Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC)
The APTC provides internationally recognised Australian-standard vocational training to increase the pool of skilled workers in targeted industry sectors, throughout Pacific Island Forum member countries. The website provides links to further information about the College and its structure, locations, courses offered, fees and policies.

Australian Apprenticeships 
Australian Apprenticeships are available in a variety of certificate levels in more than 500 occupations across Australia, in traditional trades, as well as a diverse range of emerging careers in most sectors of business and industry. This Australian Government website provides access to information about Australian Apprenticeships with links to information tailored to specific groups e.g. employers, job seekers, school students, careers advisers, registered training organisations and Australian Apprentices.

Australian Education International (AEI)
AEI is an Australian Government initiative that works with the Australian education and training industry to promote the sector internationally and advance the internationalisation of Australian education and training. The website provides further information about AEI and its activities including the provision of market information to education providers, and a qualifications recognition system that compares Australian qualifications with overseas qualifications to help people from overseas study and work in Australia. Some information on the website may only be available by paid subscription or service fee.

Australian Government Online Directory (GOLD)
This directory is a guide to the structure, organisations and key people in the Australian Government. Information on the website is grouped under the four key arms of government: the Commonwealth Parliament, the Courts, the Governor General, and Australian Government departments and agencies. Access to this information may be searched using keywords, by browsing within the four groupings, or browsing several different A-Z listings. A PDF version of the directory is also available.

Australian Government Portal
This website provides comprehensive listings of over 800 Australian government department and agency websites as well as links to the contact directories for the Australian Government and state and territory governments. This information is organised by category of user i.e. individuals, businesses, families, and by topic e.g. education and training, and by government services available online.

Australian Technical Colleges
These technical colleges funded by the Australian Government have been established to cater for students in Years 11 and 12 who wish to study for their Year 12 certificate and start an apprenticeship whilst still at school (Australian School-based Apprenticeship). The colleges are located in areas where there are skills needs, high youth population and a strong industry base. The website provides further information about the colleges and their locations, school-based apprenticeships, useful contacts, and several case studies of current students.

Council of Australian Governments (COAG)
COAG is the peak intergovernmental forum in Australia. It's role is to initiate, develop and monitor the implementation of policy reforms that are of national significance and which require cooperative action by Australian governments. One main focus area is  the ongoing reform to the VET system in Australia. Information on the website includes COAG meeting outcomes, a listing of intergovernmental agreements, details of other Ministerial Councils, and a selection of official reports.

Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR)
DEEWR is the lead government agency providing national leadership in education and workplace training, transition to work, and conditions and values in the workplace. This website contains corporate information about the department and the areas of responsibility within the portfolio such as higher education, vocational education and training, school education, career development, international education, Indigenous education, and workplace relations.

Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG)
Established in 1996, the Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG), is the key policy advisory group (of the National Senior Officials Committee (NSOC)) on national directions and priorities for information and communication technologies (ICT) in vocational education and training system (VET) and Adult and Community Education (ACE). FLAG leads the collaborative development and sustained provision of essential national ICT infrastructure; evaluates and provides advice on emerging technological opportunities; and facilitates access to e-learning products and practices that enable an innovative, flexible and responsive national training system. The website provides access to further information about FLAG's activities, priorities and published documents. A separate Members area is also available.

Institute for Trade Skills Excellence
The Institute promotes the importance of trades and skills in Australia and recognises excellence in trades and skills education and training through: SkillsOne - an integrated platform of television programming, interactive website and media partnerships; the Star Rating Scheme, which awards high performing training organisations with gold star ratings; and the Trades and Skills Teaching Awards in recognition of excellence in trades and skills education and training. The website provides further information about these initiatives as well as other activities the Institute undertakes.

LiteracyNet - Adult Literacy National Project
The Adult Literacy National Project funds a diverse range of projects from service provision to research and resource development. This website contains further information about Australian adult literacy activity and links to a range of additional programs and innovative projects, professional development, resources, and research sites.

Ministerial Council for Education, Early Childhood Development and Youth Affairs (MCEECDYA)
MCEECDYA's areas of responsibility include primary and secondary education, youth affairs and youth policy relating to schooling, cross-sectoral matters including transitions and careers, early childhood development including early childhood education and care, and international education (school education). The website provides further information on the role and responsibilities of the Council as well as links to further information about school education, early childhood development, youth, publications and links to other national, state and international government and non-government agencies/organisations. MCEECDYA has evolved from the previous Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCYEETA).

Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment (MCTEE)
MCTEE has specific responsibility for higher education, vocational education and training, international education (non school), adult and community education, the Australian Qualifications Framework, employment, and youth policy relating to participation in tertiary education, work and workforce productivity. The website  provides more information about the Council's responsibilities and functions, membership, secretariat and governance structure and arrangements. MCTEE has evolved from the previous Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE).

National Audit and Registration Agency (NARA)
NARA provides audit and registration services for Registered Training Authorities that operate in more than one Australian State or Territory. The website provides access to the NARA charter, services, news, audits and schedule of fees.

National Industry Skills Committee (NISC)
The NISC is responsible for providing high-level, evidence-based advice to the Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment (MCTEE) on workforce planning, future training priorities and other critical issues facing the training sector. The website provides further information about NISC's membership, workplan and annual report as well as links to strategic issues papers, newsletters, media releases and workforce development resource documents.

National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR)
AEI-NOOSR, located within Australian Education International, is the national expert and coordinating body on overseas skills assessments and recognition. Its mission is to help the overseas trained to work and study in Australia by providing information, advice and assistance in relation to the recognition of overseas qualifications and skills, and to encourage improved international arrangements for the recognition of qualifications and skills. This website provides information about studying, working and living in Australia, as well as services provided by NOOSR: qualifications recognition; education assessments; and a professional services development program. 

National Quality Council (NQC)
The NQC is a committee of the Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment (MCTEE), and oversees quality assurance and ensures national consistency in the application of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards for the audit and registration of training providers. The website provides information about NQC's membership, work plan and secretariat as well as the AQTF Execellence Criteria, Skill Sets, newsletter, standing committees and Employability Skills.

National VET Equity Advisory Council (NVEAC)
Established in 2009, the National VET Equity Advisory Council (NVEAC) will provide high level advice to the Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment (MCTEE) to help guide equity reform in the Australian training system. The Council will consider the issues and barriers that affect all equity groups and will continue to build on the work of the previous advisory groups around the particular barriers experienced by people with a disability and Indigenous Australians. This website provides background information on the establishment of the Council, a listing of Council Members and contact details.

Skills & Training Information
This website is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) as part of the 'Skilling Australia for the future' initiative. It provides employers, employees, job seekers and their support organisations with links to information about skills and training information centres, industry skills councils, registered training organisations, and government programs such as the Productivity Places Program.

Skills Australia
Skills Australia is an independent statutory body, providing advice to the Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations on Australia's current, emerging and future workforce skills needs and workforce development needs. The website provides information about what they do, who they are and links to other stakeholders, research organisations and publicly available papers.

SkillsInfo
The SkillsInfo website is an initiative of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and provides skills-related information for industries and regions, as well as on education and training and skills issues. The website provides access to information categorised by geographic region of interest, industry, education and training themes or skills issues and links. It also has links to industry employment profiles and outlooks.

Study in Australia
This is the official Australian Government website for International Students. This website contains impartial and reliable information about courses, institutions, study and living costs, the application process, visa requirements and more. Information is available in numerous languages including Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Thai, Spanish and Russian.

This Australian Government's youth website, aimed at young people between the ages of 12 and 25 provides a gateway to youth information, programmes, services, resources and entertaintment as well as an avenue to engage with the Government and provide input into policy and programmes.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Australia Ltd
TVET, jointly owned by the Australian, state and territory governments, aims to provide responsive and high quality services to support the national training system. These services include: a secretariat services to the National Quality Council (NQC) and the National Industry Skills Committee (NISC); the National Audit and Registration Agency (NARA); the Flexible Learning Advisory Group; the National VET Equity Advisory Council (NVEAC); and provides an integrated service to enable users to identify and acquire training materials and identify copyright requirements (via TVET Australia Product Services). The TVET website provides further information about TVET's activities, its strategic planning framework and constitution.

Training Portal
The training.com website developed by the state and territory training authorites and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), provides a single point of access to the vast range of vocational education and training information, products and services in Australia. This information is organised under three categories: training organisations; business and employers; and apprenticeships and traineeships, all with information tailored towards each category i.e. benefits of employing an apprentice, how to become a registered training organisation; course availability, costs and delivery methods; case studies and data about the economic returns on investment in training.

Workforce Innovation Program (WIP)
The Australian Government has actively engaged with industry, developing solutions to skills shortages throughout Australia via a number of major initiatives since 1999. The Workforce Innovation Program is the most recent initiative whose priorities include: strengthening industry leadership through system reform; supporting outcomes of Commonwealth/State agreements; and provide support for an innovative culture in the training sector. This website outlines these priorities and links to funding guidelines under the program.
