Scottish Council for Research in Education (SCRE)
SCRE is an independent research organisation, founded in 1928 to support education through research. It's functions are to conduct educational research and to communicate the findings of research from across Scotland. SCRE provides access to its own research and that of others through a range of publications. It also responds to enquiries about research and maintains a computerised database of Scottish educational research (ERSDAT).
Scottish Further and Higher Education Funding Council
The SFC is a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government that is reponsible for distributing funding for teaching and learning, research and other activities in Scotland's colleges and universities. The website provides information for universities and colleges, reports and publications, and statistics for both further and higher education, including access to the Infact database, containing data on students and courses in further education colleges in Scotland.
Scottish Further Education Unit (SFEU)
SFEU is the key development agency for Scotland's further education colleges. It provides services to improve learning effectiveness and college development, undertakes project-based activities in curriculum and professional development, and maintains a central resource and reference base. The website contains sections on college development, learning and teaching, research, project management, and resources.
Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)
SQA is an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the Scottish Government Schools Directorate. It is the national body in Scotland responsible for the development, accreditation, assessment and certification of qualifications other than degrees. The website is divided into sections based on four user groups: SQA coordinators, teachers, lecturers and other centre staff; learners; appointees of the SQA such as examiners and markers; and employers.
