Official statistical information relevant to VET can be sourced from national statistical agencies, international organisations and via web portals providing access to multiple statistical resources.

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
The ABS is Australia's national statistical agency and is the primary source of statistical information about Australia, it's people, economy and environment. The website provides statistical summaries, publications, links to other statistics websites, and detailed information about statistical collections.

Eurostat - Statistical Office of the European Communities
Eurostat gathers and analyses figures from the different European statistics offices in order to provide comparable data to the European Institutions. The website is updated daily and provides direct access to the latest statistical information available on the European Union, the EU Member States, the euro-zone and other countries.

FedStats
FedStats provides the full range of United States of America official statistical information available to the public from over 100 US Federal Agencies. From the website, statistics can be searched by topics, subjects, agencies or across all agencies.

International Labour Organization (ILO), Bureau of Statistics
The ILO's Bureau of Statistics provides relevant, timely and reliable labour statistics, to develop international standards for better measurement of labour issues and enhanced international comparability, and to help member States develop and improve their labour statistics. The website provides further information about the Bureau's areas of work, links to online publications and access to products such as LABORSTA (database of labour statistics) and KILM (Key Indicators of the Labour Market) via the statistics and database portal.

OECD Statistics
The Statistics Directorate provides economic statistics on a comparable basis for the analytical work of the OECD. The website provides links to the OECD glossary of statistical terms, other online statistical sources, the OECD Statistical Programme of Work and links to statistical information in the following areas - economic accounts for agriculture; financial; industry and services; international trade; labour statistics; leading indicators and tendency surveys; national accounts; Prices and Purchasing Power Parities (PPP); statistical methodology; statistics for non-member countries.

OECD Statistics Portal
This section of the OECD website provides free access to a selection of datasets and extracts from other databases. There are links to other statistical information including a list of topics, (e.g. education and training and labour), country statistical profiles, the OCED factbook, online catalogue of statistical publications, working papers and a glossary of statistical terms.

Statistics Canada - Canada's National Statistical Agency
Statistics Canada is Canada's central statistical agency. The website has links to Canadian statistics, definitions, data sources and methods, learning resources, business data and community profiles.

Statistics Finland
Statistics Finland combines collected data with its own expertise to produce statistics and information services for the needs of society, promotes the use of statistics and develops national official statistics. This website provides links to public agencies and research institutions that produce statistics and its Webstat database can be used to search for statistics by topic and country.

Statistics New Zealand
Statistics New Zealand (Te Tari Tatau) is the country's major source of official statistics. The website provides links to statistical products and services, methods, contact details, main indicators and more in-depth information within 5 themes: people and society; economy; environment; statistics by area; and census.

Office for National Statistics
This website provides free access to data produced by the United Kingdom's Office for National Statistics, and some data from government departments and devolved administrations. Data may be found by theme i.e. education and training and labour market or through a selection of key statistics i.e. GDP, inflation, population, and employment.  

UNESCO Institute for Statistics
The UNESCO Institute for Statistics is the statistical branch of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO). It was established in July 1999 to meet the growing needs of UNESCO Member States and the international community for a wider range of policy-relevant, timely, and reliable statistics in the fields of education, science and technology, culture and communication. The website has a wide range of statistical information based around its core themes of Education, Literacy, Culture and Communication, and Science and Technology.

US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)
BLS is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labour economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyses, and disseminates essential statistical data. The website provides access to data in the areas of inflation and prices; wages, earnings and benefits; productivity; workplace injuries; international; occupations; demographics; employment and unemployment. Other features include at a glance tables, publications and research papers, and links to other statistical sites.

US National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)
NCES is the primary federal entity for collecting and analysing data that are related to education in the US and other nations. The website provides further information about the Centre's survey and work programmes, and provides access to data tools, tables and figures, fast facts and its publications and products.

World Bank Data & Statistics
The World Bank Data Group aims to provide high quality national and international statistics to clients within and outside the Bank and to improve the capacity of member countries to produce and use statistical information. This website provides access to the most requested data, key products such as world development indicators and data resources including country statistical information. Specific topics, including education, labour, and employment have their own online databases. Country-specific information is also provided.
